Kaus Endorsement for Kerry
This guy is all over the place these days - on NPR, blogging, on Slate. And he's in LA! He's for Kerry for an interesting reason: He'll piss less people off.
I hate to vote this way, letting certain folks hatred for Bush make a compelling case for Kerry, but this is world we live in.
UPDATE: Yee haw. Thanks for the link, Steph. Here is the click-to, for the sake of ease.
As for how I feel about Ghana and South African officials checking out our elections - I don't like it. It makes me understand when Israeli's complain about the moral equivalence argument of the Palestinians. I love the childish line of thinking that any flawed system is equally flawed. That is to say, if American elections are flawed, they are no better than, Palestinian elections where the oppositions has been bullied and intimidated. Can't you hear left-wing crazies crying out - exactly, that's exactly what Bush does! Bush = Hitler, and so on and so forth.
But being the only superpower in the world, we have to expect some of this type of crap and maybe it will incentivize making our polling places as accessible as possible. The sad thing is that we all know the only reason the South Africa election official is allowed to have his job or property or equal rights is because of American opposition to appartied. But whatever, that was only 15 years ago...what have we done for them lately?
Wa wa - America arrogance. Wa wa.
