War in Iraq

Is is just me or does anyone who supported the war, put a nice spin on things - like Mr. Boot here....and all the anti-war folks put a negative spin on things.

One factor I think we neglect to mention about the election is that American's are fundamentally optimistic - right now, the Republicans are more optimistic than the Democrats and that is a major reason for their popularity. The Dems have been hijacked by a bunch of doomsdayers who think we're out there ruining the world....these people have no sense of history, they are on the wrong side of it, methinks. Have these people been to places like Cuba or read about the Cultural Revolution or know about Gulag prisons. Have they read Hobbs or about the history of European colonialism? Do they know that disease and terror are more prevelant throughout human history than health and freedom? Seeking to change the "norm" is good - the norm is a fairly shitty world and shitty existence, but as spoiled and priviledged Americans, we often forget that.
