Insurgents

I read an article the other day that disturbed me. An insurgent was shooting a machine gun at people on the street from the window of his house. When the Iraqi police came to get the guy, they stormed the house and the house exploded. Seven police died.

The insurgents continue to impress me with their tactics. This was a clever move, it killed at least 7 to 1 in their favor, and beyond that, will make any future Iraqi police hesistant to raid a house.

Why don't we hear about our army doing similar things to the insurgency? The best we can do is go in with overwhelming force. We need to get in their heads and fuck with them. My friend suggested a brilliant idea - we ought to pose a bunch of soldiers as truck drivers, each with tracking devices planted in their skin or swallowed or whatever technology we have. Once one of them got kidnapped, hopefully, he would find his way to Zarqawi...and we would raid and get the bastard. That not only may yield Zarqawi, but more importantly, we'd be fucking with them. They'd be hesistant to kidnap a truck driver.

This is how we should fight.
