Spiderman on the bases?
I wonder if it'll ever stop? Last night we were watching the Twolves-Kings game (great game, by the way) and amongst the folks in the bar, we were talking about all the cross advertising, Van Helsing and the NBA, etc, etc. This is just another example.
I wonder if commercialism and marketing will ever slow down. It seems that it keeps plugging forward, bastardizing more and more. I'm not an anti-capitalist by any stretch, but I just think a lot of this stuff is tacky. I hate advertisements prior to movies. I hate the last 2 minutes of bball games because they're filled with time outs and commercials. I don't like the cross marketing of bball and monster movies, and I don't like the idea of spiderman on the bases.
But then again, I don't mind soccer jersey's with sponsors, the renaming of ballparks to Pac Bell, or product placement in TV and movies.
Some of it seems ok to me, some of it totally annoying.
