And Weirder...

A Missouri professor refuses to cancel class and an exam. And then quits.

This is hysteria. Students are afraid of the KKK. When is the last time the KKK did anything? This is madness and I hope people recognize it.

I'm sure you meant that hyperbolically, but just in case you were serious, I can give you a very good example. In my hometown last year, just a few miles from my parents' house, a man from Missouri who was the former leader of The White Patriot Party (fka the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan) shot and killed several people in the name of White Power.

He received the death penalty this week.

What does that shooting have to do with attending class, firing the professor, and getting the university president to resign?

I standby my basic point that the KKK is essentially a non-issue in contemporary American society in the same way bank robbers are a non-issue. The fact that a banker robber or a KKK thug commits a crime does not make it a national or regional problem. It makes it an issue of local crime and does not merit forcing educators to resign because they don't feel sufficient outrage over the non-issue.

and ps, we can agree to disagree if you think the KKK is a priority you think we should expand our national resources combatting. i just think there are other fish to fry.
