Price-Point
On amazon these days, most old books I purchase can be found in the price range of $4-6 used. I can get either hardback or paperback used in good condition for this price (including shipping).
I wonder if it has anything to do with the Kindle. I doubt it. I'm not sure why this particular price point hits. But I love it. I can get really nice used copies of great books for super cheap - even cheaper than buying the mass market paperbacks, which usually will go for $8 or so. And the nice paperbacks generally go for $14-16.
Can't go wrong with $4-6 and delivered to your doorstep.
