Changing Perspectives

Reading and talking a little more about the Hurricane...it's nuts. It sounds like 100,000 people are stuck in New Orleans without clean drinking water and electricity. It's the 100,000 poorest, oldest, and least advantaged people, plus those who stayed to help.

In a couple of days, things will settle, order will be restored, but the last couple of days seems like anarchy. From what I can tell, there has been impressive coverage and attention paid to the disaster to allow people to do what they can to help...not by me, of course, but by people much better than me.

I suppose some more effort to help those without resources (ie transportation) to get out of the city prior to the hurricane itself would have been desirable, but that's a really cheap Monday morning quarterback comment coming from some jackass on a computer in LA.

If you want to help, Instapundit has a tremendous number of organizations that are helping.
