Rejected on the Dancefloor, Get Your Ass Kicked

Hat tip, Gomez
.

Obviously, this story is awful...but let me ask this...why is it worse because it happened to a woman than a man? Male on male violence accounts for something like 90% of assaults - guys routinely get their asses kicked in bars on the street, etc - and if it happens to a woman, it's a story.

Welcome to wonderful world of "equality."

Um, because there is something way more offensive and shocking about attempted sexual assault than a run-of-the-mill bar fight.

Yeah, you make it sound like she just got beat up. Attempted sexual assault is a different deal.

i know i should probably concede because this is a no win argument. but we humans don't always act in our immediate self interest.

i think my point stands re: violence. violence committed against men is considered less serious than violence against women. why? this includes sexual violence, by the way. we all know prison rape is routinely committed in prison and it isn't taken seriously at all - so much so - it is one of the more overused and obvious jokes made by poor comedians (myself included). this idea that male victims of violence ought to have been able to protect themselves vs. female victims of violence who are helpless plays into the traditional gender stereotypes feminists so often castigate.

why do i harbor on issues such as these? because i believe interest groups, including "feminists" and "environmentalists" often try to disguise naked self-interest and bias as morality, justice, and fairness.

but listen, i get it - she was the victim of attempted sexual assault, it sucks. i'm saying it's only newsworthy and forwarded because the victim was a woman.
