My thoughts: clever visual idea and execution of a nihilistic message. I watch and I feel a confused despair and less enlightened. I feel like it's the video equivalent of a Ta-Nehisi Coates article.

It's "important" and thus forgettable.
I have seen many articles comparing Kanye West and Donald Glover suddenly - arguing that Donald Glover is the true artist. It's such ideologically posturing regarding Kanye. The guy has made seven good to seminal records, many, many genre defining videos and a weird fashion line. Donald Glover has created an album nominated for a grammy with a couple good songs which very few people could recognize and a good season of a tv show. It's unfair to Glover who is an interesting actor and musician.
