Therapy Example
If therapists focused on Little League baseball for instance, they would've developed psychological terms for:
1) not being able to catch the ball (badglove disorder)
2) being afraid of getting hit by the ball (scaredofpitchitis)
3) throwing with bad form (throwinglikeagirlism)
Whereas the baseball coach realizes this just takes practice and effort to learn how to do.
For instance - are we so sure there is such a thing as dyslexia? Or ADHD? I mean, I know a lot of people are diagnosed with these things. But a lot of folks also get afraid of being hit by a pitch. My point: are these pathologies? Couldn't dyslexia be treated by say...practicing reading? Or ADHD be treated by...a lot of exercise?
