Chaos and economic collapse in Turkey would be considerably worse than any the Iraq war, the Syrian Civil War, or pretty much any geopolitical event in recent memory, I imagine.

Just look at the map, and it becomes clear why Turkey is a critical ally and buffer between the West and the Middle East.
